CAMPS FOR GIRLS

Camp Arcadia
Located in Casco, Maine, Camp Arcadia is a residential summer camp for girls. New experiences of happiness, friendship, growth and being at home in the out-of-doors these are our goals for each of our 175 campers. The Maine woods, lakes, and fields stimulate an interest in the natural world. Living with others leads to abiding friendships and self-confidence. Participating in our rich, full program encourages the development of individual abilities.

Since 1916 the same family has guided Arcadia. Anne Henderson Fritts, Louise Henderson, and Louise Fritts Johnson currently represent the third and fourth generation of directors.

The foundation of Arcadia is the belief that each girl should, with guidance, plan and carry out her own individual program and that she should attain proficiency in our Basic Activities - boating, campcraft, canoeing, and swimming. Each camper and her parents choose her elective activities in the spring. Activities are scheduled by interest and ability, rather than by age or lodge units. Our usual daily program is interspersed with canoe and hiking trips as well as other special activities.

For more information, visit the Camp Arcadia Website, listed above, or phone 203-655-CAMP (2267) (winter) or 207-627-4605 (summer).

Treasure Equestrian - Girls Summer Camp
Located in Manchester, Maine, our Summer Equestrian Girls Youth Enrichment Program consists of a one to three week program of skill building. Students may bring their own horse or have use of a school horse. There is limited registration for this program so it is imperative that you apply early. The age range is 10 to 16 years. It is not necessary that you be an accomplished rider. In fact, you should not hesitate to apply even as a complete beginner, for we believe that the commitment of our campers is far more important than technical skill in fostering a positive, exciting and fun learning atmosphere for all. For more information, visit the website or phone 207-623-7847.
